JV Boys Track Wins Hillsboro Invitational

The Festus boys junior varsity track team had a successful meet on Wednesday, as the team defeated 20 other schools at the Hillsboro Invitational, which was held at the Herky High School track.

Jacob Pauly (10) had a great meet, taking first place in the 110 meter hurdles (16.27), 300 meter hurdles (42.53), and the high jump (5-6).  Garrett Rhine (9) joined him as champion as he won the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:55.92.

Rhine also placed second in the 1600 meter run (4:55.67), while teammates Simon Ogle (9) took second in the 800 meter run (2:07.69), and Alec Whitener (10) finished just behind Rhine in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:56.05.

Two relay teams took third place.  The 4×400 relay team ran a time of 3:45.62, while the 4×800 team crossed the finish line in 9:28.88.  Jaylan Watson (10), coming off an injury, placed third in the long jump with a jump of 18-9.

The team will be in action tomorrow at DeSoto.  The meet will start at 3:30 p.m.
