The Tigers Varsity and Junior Varsity made the long trek to Potosi on Wednesday night and both came away winners.  The Varsity winning 14-7 and the JV winning 8-1.
In the Varsity game, Freshmen Cailey McFadden was the winning pitcher.  She picked up her 5th win of the season and went the distance.  McFadden struck out 9 and allowed nine hits.
Offensively, Festus got a  three hit and three rbi night from Senior Haley Franklin.  Franklin also scored two runs on the night as well.    Senior Catcher Paige Gipson also had a key hit and drove in three runs on the night.   Sophomore Breanna Patek had two rbis for the visiting team.   Cassidy Crump, Freshmen Jenna Oetting, and Breana Peters all had one hit for the tigers.
Festus scored seven runs in the first inning and would never look back.  The tigers put up  three runs in both the second and third innings.  Potosi would make it closer by plating 7 runners in the final four frames.  McFadden would settle in as the tiger hurler to nail down the win.
The Tigers play at De Soto on Friday at 4:30 for a conference game. The Varsity travels to Arnold for the Seckman Tourney on Saturdayand plays in bracket play at 9 a.m. against Pacific.  The JV will host the 8 team 14th Annual Tiger Cub Classic at Sunset Park. The JV tigers play at 9 a.m. Come out and see one of the more competitive JV tourneys around in it’s 14th season.
Tuesday, the Two Tiger squads host Windsor at Sunset Park.  It is our Toys for Patients night.  The tigers team will be collecting small toys to be donated to areas hospitals.  This is our 3rd Annual event.   We are looking for legos, card games, barbie dolls, stuffed animals, etc.  All the toys will be donated to area hospitals for nurses to give away to children.
