It was a successful day for the Festus boys team Saturday at the district track meet at Hillsboro. Twelve individuals qualified for the sectional meet on Saturday. The sectional meet will be at Hillsboro and begin at 9 a.m.
Noah Hunter (12) qualified in three events. He took fourth place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:38.25. He also qualified with a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run. He crossed the finish line in that event in 2:01.49. The third event in which he qualified was the 4×800 meter relay. He and teammates Trenton Childress (10), Max McDaniel (10), and Matt Thomas (12), clocked in at 8:15.77 which placed them second in the event.
Three Tigers qualified in two events. Aldryn Bustos (12) took third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.36. He also teamed with CJ Glaze (11), Jaylan Watson (10), and Jacob Pauly (10) in the 4×100 meter relay. They placed third in that event with a time of 45.68.
Pauly qualified in his second event with a fourth place finish in the high jump. He jumped five feet, six inches.
McDaniel qualified in the 3200 meter run. His time of 9:46.10 was good for third place.
Brendan Pratt (12) took second place in the 1600 meter run in a time of 4:35.95. Meanwhile, Chance Gotsch (11) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 40 feet, four inches. Both athletes qualified for sectionals.
And finally, the Tigers qualified two individuals in the pole vault. Cory Sellers (12) and Tyler Daugherty (12) placed second and fourth respectively. Sellers vaulted 13 feet, six inches, while Daugherty’s top vault was 12 feet, six inches.
