The Festus boys track program gained two all-state honorees at this weekend’s state track championships in Jefferson City.
Saturday’s competition featured long rain delays. Despite that, Cory Sellers (12) vaulted 14 feet in the pole vault which earned him third place in the event. Meanwhile, Max McDaniel (10) took sixth place in the 3200 meter run. His time of 9:15.52 was 18 seconds better than his previous season-best time. Both performances enabled Sellers and McDaniel to be named to the all-state team.
The 4×800 meter relay team of McDaniel, Matt Thomas (12), Brendan Pratt (12), and Noah Hunter (12) finished in tenth place. The team clocked in at 8:22.05
On Friday, Pratt placed ninth in the 1600 meter run. He missed all-state honors by one place. His time in the event was 4:32.93.
Jacob Pauly (10) competed in the high jump for the Tigers on Friday as well.
