Tigers News · Sock It To Cancer Game Raises $1000

Festus Softball parents and athletes raised $1000 for the Missy’s Mission Scholarship Foundation.  It is named after 2012 Festus graduate Missy DeRousse.  She passed away at the age of 20 following a battle with a rare form of colon cancer for someone her age.  Varsity Softball Coach Jeff Montgomery and Missy’s family formed the foundation in Missy’s memory.  This week, parents and athletes sold raffle tickets to raise money for the Foundation.  It works in the community helping kids get sports equipment.  It has also given scholarships to nearly a dozen students.
