Varsity Baseball Tigers Lose to Cape Notre Dame, 7-1

The Cape Notre Dame Bulldogs scored early and often against the Festus Tigers Monday in Cape Girardeau.  The hosts scored seven runs in the first three innings, and the Tigers were never able to recover, dropping the contest, 7-1. Five of the first seven batters for the Bulldogs collected hits off Festus starter Blake Holland (12). 

Festus Tennis Routs Crystal City in First Round of District Play

The Festus varsity tennis team had no trouble with Crystal City in the first round of the district tournament Monday at Sunset Park.  The Tigers won the first five matches, causing the event to be called with Festus up 5-0.  The win advances Festus to the next round, a match against St. Pius.  The match

The Festus varsity boys track team scored 71.50 points Friday, good for second place at the Hillsboro Invitational.  The Tigers were quite a bit behind first place Hillsboro who won the event with 146 points. In its last regular season track meet, the Festus varsity girls placed fourth Friday at the Hillsboro Invitational.  The Tigers scored 69 points which placed them behind DeSoto (83), Hillsboro (76), and Sullivan (75). The Festus JV baseball team split a pair of games over the last week.  The Tigers defeated Hillsboro 7-3 last Tuesday, but dropped a 10-1 decision at Oakville on Friday.
