Four Tigers Qualify for State as Festus Wrestling Finishes Sixth at Districts

The Festus wrestling program will be represented by four athletes at the state wrestling tournament after this past weekend’s district tournament at Farmington High School.  The Tigers finished sixth as a team, accumulating 93 points.  Pacific won the team competition with 191 points. Eight Tigers scored points for the team, led by Dillon French (11). 

One More District Wrestling Tournament Change

In an effort to complete tonight’s rounds at Farmington High School as early as possible, wrestling will begin at 5:30 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m.  Weigh-ins remain at 4:00 p.m.

Due to the forecasted winter weather for some areas on Saturday afternoon, officials at Farmington High School have made an adjustment to the district wrestling schedule for this weekend.  All start times will remain the same, however, on Friday night there will be an extra round (2nd Round Wrestlebacks).  This will allow the tournament to be finished earlier in the day on Saturday and

Baseball Informational Meeting Set for Tuesday

There will be a short informational meeting for all boys interested in trying out for baseball in Coach Montgomery’s classroom after school on Tuesday, February 13.  Athletes must have a physical to tryout, and a gold card turned in to the athletic office. JV Girls Basketball Loses to Visitation, 39-32

The Festus junior varsity girls basketball team couldn’t overcome tough second and third quarters, and fell to Visitation Academy, 39-32 Wednesday at home.  Festus is now 5-11 on the season. Varsity Girls Basketball Sees Three-Game Win Streak End With Loss to Visitation

Coming off clinching the conference championship on Monday, the Festus varsity girls basketball team had no answers for the Visitation Academy Vivettes on Wednesday at home.  The visitors from St. Louis hit shots, forced turnovers, and played a stifling man-to-man defense as they downed the Tigers 65-39.  The loss stopped a three-game winning streak for
