Boys Varsity Track · Boys Varsity Track finishes 1st place at District Meet

  Place Points
Festus High School 1st 143

The Festus Boys Track team had an impressive day this past Saturday. With cold, windy, rainy conditions for nearly 13 hours in Park Hills, Missouri, The Tigers competed like the weather was no issue at all.

The Tigers defeated the very talented team of West Plains 143 – 98, with 9 other schools fighting for 3rd through 11th place.

Performances were not exactly what some athletes were hoping for, but with those conditions, finishing top 4 and just moving on to the Sectional Meet in West Plains next Saturday was the main goal. The Tigers qualified for the Sectional Meet in 13 of the 19 events contested.

District Champions:

Aidan Grant – PV (12′)
Jaylan Watson – LJ (21’1″)

Max McDaniel – 3200M (9:32.30)

Also qualifying for the Sectional Meet:

Austin Coale – PV (12-6) – the event was stopped due to conditions once there only 4 athletes left, Aidan and Austin were placed 1st and 3rd due to misses at lower heights. So we don’t know what the placement would have been had the vaulters been allowed to finish.

Cayse Martin – LJ (2nd place 20-6)
