The Tigers girls won both the 7th and 8th grade divisions at the Doe Run Invitational on Sat., Oct 24 in Herculaneum. The top four runners were scored in this meet to make a complete team.
Seventh grade race: Seventh grader, Olivia Cole battled with Bismark’s Lilly Davis for the individual championship. Olivia made her final pass near the chute to earn the win with a time of 9:35. Next in was Karly Manwarring in 5th (10:34), Pixie Willis(7th, 11:01) and the final scorer was Rosalie Tedford (10th, 11:17). There were 24 girls racing in the 7th grade meet. Festus won with 13 points.
8th grade race: Olivia Gillam ran to her best place all season, edging out Hollyn Zangaro
(Ste Genevieve) in the chute by one second to earn third place. Teammates Liz Skaggs (6th) and Katelyn Reece (7th) scored next with Alyssa Collins finishing as final scorer in 12th place. The girls scored 24 points for the win.
