The Festus Tigers raced their way to a fourth place finish at the Potosi Invitational on Saturday. The only school in the JCCA conference to best them was Hillsboro outscoring the lady Tigers 84 to 124.
The Tigers first medalist was 7th grader Olivia Cole finishing in second place with a time of 13:49. Cole led the race but was eventually overtaken by Hillsboro’s Katelyn Wiethop (7th grade-13:44) near the finish. Next in were 8th graders Olivia Gillam and Alyssa Collins in 25th and 26th places running 15:32.14 and 15:32.16. Rounding out the top five scorers was 8th grader Katelyn Reece in 40th, and 7th grader Karly Manwarring in 48th place.
Their were 119 girls in the race and twelve teams.
The FMS Tiger harriers will race again at the JCCA conference meet at West City Park on Sat., Oct. 17, 2020.
