The Festus JV Tiger offense broke out of a week long slump on Tuesday evening at West City Park. The JCAA matchup featured 29 runs, 21 hits, 15 walks, and 12 strikeouts between both teams.

The JV Tigers solidified their lead with a four run third inning when Laine Axtetter (10) drove in a run with an RBI single, Axtetter would finish the day 2-4 with a walk. Owen Hyde (9) also singled in the third, driving in two to give the Tigers the lead for good. Hyde finished the evening 3-4 with 4 RBI.

The offensive explosion featured two walks and two runs scored by Justin Reed (9). Jack Uskiwich (9) added one hit, two walks, two RBI, and three runs scored. Conner Hulsey (9) drove in two runs with three walks. Cameron Ford (9) added one hit, two walks, and three RBI. Aiden Irelan (10) contributed two hits and two runs scored.

On the mound, Reed started and threw 2 2/3rds inning and despite the Dragons scoring 10 runs, only 3 were earned. Hulsey would relieve Reed for 4 1/3rd innings and allow four runs, 2 earned, on four hits while striking out six. Hulsey would get the win on the mound in relief.

In the nightcap, the 9th grade team fell 14-4 in seven innings. The JV Tigers will be back in action Thursday evening against Perryville at West City Park.
