It was a great night for track with the weather cooperating and 15 schools attending the Tiger Town Invitational. Following a great meet at NW High School where the Tigers Men’s Track Team took 2nd to Class 5 power Lafayette, the Tigers looked to have a good showing at home Tuesday night.
Even though some key injuries (Cayden Glaze and Johnney McDowell) hampered the team, and 2 top distance athletes (Max McDaniels and Alec Whitener) sat out to train for a big national meet next week, the remaining tigers stepped up and had a great evening.
The most notable performance of the night was Austin Anderson breaking the school record in the javelin by 10 feet that had been set by Austin Coale just a couple weeks ago. Anderson threw the javelin 152-9 earning him a third place finish.
