The night looked promising for the JV Tigers as they led the Windsor Owls 1-0 going into the 5th inning Tuesday night. However, a late Windsor offensive explosion quickly turned the tide against the Tigers.
Through four innings of work, Cameron Ford (9) held the Windsor offense in check while the Tiger offense was able to push across one run. The lone Festus run came when Ford grounded out scoring Anthony Simon (9) who had walked to lead off the inning.
While the Tigers were able to push across the first run, the Owls took advantage of two errors, four walks, and tallied four hits to open a commanding 6-1 lead. The Owls added two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to bring the final score to 9-1.
Offensively the Tigers could only muster four hits, three off the bat of Laine Axtetter (10) and one via Jack Uskiwich (10). The Festus JV Tigers will conclude the 2019 campaign at West City Park on Wednesday afternoon against Affton. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
