Mr. Kevin Kinder became the next in a long line of impressive Hall of Fame members of Festus High School on Friday night. In an induction ceremony before the Varsity game the late Mr. Kinder was honored in a touching ceremony where his family accepted the award on his behalf.
The Varsity contest that followed was a close and hard fought battle throughout with the lead exchanging hands several times. At the end of 1 the Tigers were up 1. At half Hillsboro took a 9 point lead before the Tigers came charging back in the 3q to take a 1 point lead going into the 4th. Festus scored the first basket of the 4th to take a 3 point lead before Hillsboro came right back with buckets of their own. Eventually Hillsboro prevailed with a 52-45 victory. Several Tigers contributed in an all around team effort. The next game will be at home on Tuesday night against North County’s talented Sophomore duo of Karter Kekac and Carter Crow. The Tigers are now 15-7 on the season as the look toward the final 3 home games and district play.
