The Varsity Tigers and Hillsboro Hawks battled at Sunset on Tuesday Night. A lightning delay and a brief shower would push the game to a later start. The Tigers would send Hunter Ellsworth to the circle, she would pitch two scoreless innings early and after surrendering seven runs give way to Junior Morgan Green. Green would finish out the game and allow 4 additional runs including a scoreless sixth frame.

Offensively, the Tigers would get a two hit game from Abby Rickermann, McKenzie McJunkins and Morgan Green. Rickermann would pick up a stolen base. Green had two runs scored and two rbis by doubling in two.

The Tigers were geared up on Tuesday, but a few misplayed balls and defensive miscues made things difficult for the home team. The Hawks got some timely hitting and got a solid effort in the circle.

Back at it on Thursday at 4:15 pm vs. St. Pius at Sunset. Then on Friday the Tigers travel to the Jerry Joyce Invitational hosted by Seckman at Arnold Athletic Association. The Tigers play Perryville at 3pm, Farmington at 5 pm and Saturday morning against Fort Zumwalt West at 10 am. A winner’s round game will come in the afternoon.

The tigers record is now 3-5.
