The Festus middle school girls cross country team fell to rival DeSoto in the race for the JCAA Conference Championship.  DeSoto bested the Tigers by only two points to win the meet.  The Dragons collected 43 points while the Tigers tallied 45. The FMS eighth grade and seventh grade boys cross country teams competed separately Tuesday at the Jefferson R-7 Invitational.  In the end, the eighth grade team won their competition, while the seventh grade team took second place in their race. Varsity Boys Cross Country Finish Ninth at Chile Pepper; McDaniel Fifth

The Festus varsity boys cross country team came home with a ninth place finish at Saturday’s Chile Pepper Festival run in Fayetteville, AR. Max McDaniel (11) led the charge for the Tigers, placing fifth out of 648 runners.  He covered the course in 15:40.1.  “Max had a very good race,” said head coach Bryant Wright.
