Four Tigers Qualify for State as Festus Wrestling Finishes Sixth at Districts

The Festus wrestling program will be represented by four athletes at the state wrestling tournament after this past weekend’s district tournament at Farmington High School.  The Tigers finished sixth as a team, accumulating 93 points.  Pacific won the team competition with 191 points. Eight Tigers scored points for the team, led by Dillon French (11). 

One More District Wrestling Tournament Change

In an effort to complete tonight’s rounds at Farmington High School as early as possible, wrestling will begin at 5:30 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m.  Weigh-ins remain at 4:00 p.m.

Due to the forecasted winter weather for some areas on Saturday afternoon, officials at Farmington High School have made an adjustment to the district wrestling schedule for this weekend.  All start times will remain the same, however, on Friday night there will be an extra round (2nd Round Wrestlebacks).  This will allow the tournament to be finished earlier in the day on Saturday and

The Festus varsity wrestling team took first place in the gold pool of the University City Lions Classic on Saturday.  The Tigers were a perfect 5-0 in duals. FHS Wrestling Splits a Pair of Duals at Potosi on Tuesday

The Festus varsity wrestling squad competed in a tri-dual meet at Potosi on Tuesday.  The Tigers fell to North County 53-25, but rebounded to take a 52-22 decision over Potosi. FHS Wrestling Goes 0-2 at Tri-Duals at Hillsboro

The Festus varsity wrestling team lost two duals at the Hillsboro Tri-Duals on Tuesday.  The Tigers dropped a 44-33 decision to Hillsboro, and also fell 60-20 to DeSoto. Varsity Wrestlers Take Fifth Place at Central Rebels Invitational

The Festus varsity wrestling team had a strong showing at Saturday’s Central Rebels Invitational.  The Tigers placed fifth with 169.5 points.  Cape Central won the event with 248.5 points. FHS Wrestling Takes Sixth Place at Don Fuhrmann Duals

The Festus varsity wrestling team finished in sixth place at the two-day Don Fuhrmann Duals held at Hillsboro High School on Thursday and Friday.  The ten team event saw the Tigers win five of nine matches.
