Reed & McMillin Secure Spots at the State Track Meet This Weekend

Caitlin Reed (12) and Abby McMillin (10) will represent the Festus Tigers at this weekend’s state track meet in Jefferson City.  Both individuals turned in top performances at Saturday’s sectional meet at Rockwood Summit. Reed equaled her school record of 11 feet in the pole vault.  That was good for second place at the meet.

In its last regular season track meet, the Festus varsity girls placed fourth Friday at the Hillsboro Invitational.  The Tigers scored 69 points which placed them behind DeSoto (83), Hillsboro (76), and Sullivan (75). Festus Varsity Girls Finish a Strong Third at JCAA Conference Track Meet

The Festus varsity girls track team scored 119 points in placing third at the JCAA Conference track meet held at Hillsboro High School on Wednesday and Thursday.  DeSoto edged the Tigers for second place with 123.50 points.  Jefferson won the event with 143 points. Girls Varsity Track Team Places Fourth in Close Meet at DeSoto

The Festus varsity girls track team took fourth place at Friday’s DeSoto Invitational.  It was a tight race among the top four teams.  Parkway Central won with 115 points, followed by DeSoto and Poplar Bluff with 92 points, and Festus with 88. The Festus varsity track team won Friday’s Ste. Genevieve Invitational, outdistancing Hillsboro by 28 points.  The Tigers scored 142 points, while Hillsboro tallied 114.
